Write-in Campaign on my NYC block.
Dear 47th ED voter,
On June 27th, our Council District won’t have an election. Our councilman Sean Abreu is undisputed, so there won’t be an election.
That is how many think democracy should be, an election day without an election.
The only two elections on the ballot for our election district are County Committee and Delegate to the Judicial Convention. If you want to know more about those, you can email me.
As I have written many times, I am a Socialist, like Bernie Sanders. I believe in Free Education, Universal Health Care, Anti-Death Penalty, Pro-Abortion, Universal Basic Income, the Right to Unionize, the sanctity of the Separation of Church and State, and the belief that the Government should make life bearable for all and ensure citizens’ Liberties.
Even though there isn’t a headline City Council election on the 27th, I ask that you take 15 minutes to walk to the poll site at Fortune Society at 625 West 140 Street, New York, NY 10031.
Sunday, 6/18/2023, at 4:00 pm on CUNY TV (Channel 75 on Spectrum or Channel 30 on FIOS), a documentary called County will explain what that small election is about.
Monday, 6/19/2023, at 7:00 pm, we’ll have our monthly SDA meeting at the New Conde at the corner of Broadway and 175th Street. A Socialist member from Mali will join us.
Sunday, 6/25/2023, at 8:00 pm, the Italian Democrats are organizing a meeting with the Socialist president of Emilia-Romagna, Stefano Boaccini (The meeting is in Italian): Tra lutto nazionale e tragedie europee, é l’ora della politica seria.
